My 6-Month Savings Tracker
How this calculator works
This is simple division, on purpose: your goal divided by the number of weeks (or months) you have gives you the exact number to set aside on a schedule. The 6-month tracker below always uses a fixed 26-week version of your goal (goal ÷ 26) so you have one clean, printable visual no matter what deadline you picked above.
Worked example
$2,600 goal in 26 weeks (about 6 months): that's exactly $100 a week, or roughly $433 a month. Color in one of the 26 boxes every week you hit $100 and you'll watch the goal fill in.
Frequently asked questions
What if I can't save the same amount every week?
Treat the weekly number as a target average, not a rigid rule. Save more some weeks, less others, and use the tracker to see your overall pace.
Where should I actually keep this money?
For a short-term goal (under a couple of years), a high-yield savings account keeps it safe and earning some interest while staying easy to access. This calculator doesn't model interest on the way there. It's a pure savings-pace tool.
Why is the tracker always 26 weeks even if my deadline is different?
The printable tracker is a fixed 6-month visual aid (a common, easy-to-print format). Use the calculator above for your actual deadline's weekly/monthly number, and the tracker as a motivational add-on.
Can I use this for a bigger goal, like a house down payment?
Yes: just enter the full goal and however many weeks you're giving yourself. Longer goals will show a bigger per-week number if the timeline is short, so adjust the deadline until the number feels realistic.
Assumptions & sources
- No interest/investment growth assumed on the saved money: this is a pure savings-pace calculator, not an investment projection (see the Compound Interest calculator for that).
- 1 month is treated as about 4.345 weeks for the "per month" conversion.
